BREAKING NEWS – Stamp Duty threshold increased.

 
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has confirmed that the Stamp Duty threshold will be increased to £500,000 immediately until March 31 next year.
 
He said the Government will temporarily increase the nil-rate band of residential Stamp Duty in England and Northern Ireland from £125,000 to £500,000.
 
This will apply from today 8th July 2020 until March 31st 2021.
 
The Treasury said nearly nine out of ten people getting on or moving up the property ladder will pay no Stamp Duty at all.
 
The aim is to boost the housing market and the wider economy to help the UK recover from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic when the property market was closed from the end of March until mid May.
 
Our property portals have reported increased demand since the market reopened but this will be further welcome news.
 
Rightmove said there are more than 510,000 properties with asking prices under £500,000 on the portal, making up 81% of all residential stock for sale in England and that 84% of buyer enquiries on Rightmove are for properties priced under £500,000.
 
This certainly sounds like great news to help people move forward reducing the moving costs significantly.

We’re back to work and are closely following the Government’s safety Guidelines.

Your safety and that of our staff is our number one priority.
 
With regards to the Covid-19 pandemic and the news regarding the North East, we want to reassure you that our main priority continues to be the health of our customers and colleagues. With that in mind we are now going to have to work behind closed doors, with visits to our offices by appointment only.
 
We are doing our utmost to continue to deliver the excellent service that you expect from us, however this will be via telephone and email.
 
We have implemented additional hygiene measures at all branches and Head Office to ensure the good health of our team and clients, and we continue to work from our 16 regional branches. We are following all Government and PHE guidelines and continue to monitor the situation and adapt as necessary.

If you are viewing a property, we want to help to keep you safe. We have created a series of safety leaflets for guidance when you attend / host a physical viewing. Please read the leaflet below that applies to you so we can stay safe and protect each other.

Oh so fine! We’ve relaunched our Fine Living brand with a luxurious new look

Fine Living is our luxury brand, which specialises in the sale of beautiful homes with a high market value. As the Region’s leading estate agent, we are appointed to market some of the finest properties in the North East from prestigious bespoke apartments, luxury city homes, large country houses, equestrian homes to small sporting estates.

 

We recently relaunched Fine Living with a new look brand and style to reflect the calibre of properties we are selling in this range. This is however by no means a new brand. Fine Living was created eight years ago by one of our founding director’s, Rod Matthews, to offer an additional exclusive service for homes with a value exceeding £500,000.

 

The Fine living brand prospered for years and then as the housing market slowed, and in particular
the sale of higher value homes, the Fine Living brand also slowed down.

 

The great news is that the market is now moving again, and we have recently seen encouraging signs within the market for the higher end properties. Fine Living is receiving lots of interest from buyers to help find a property that sits within this range. So in response to the increased interest from buyers and the
heightened activity of the housing market, we decided to revamp the Fine Living brand. It needed a new look and feel that was as stylish and beautifully presented as the homes that sit in its collection.

 

Fine Living now has a new contemporary and stylish look, a new logo and a full suite of supporting marketing material to show these homes off in the light they deserve. Fine Living was launched on Valentine’s Day with the message ‘Fall in Love with Fine Living’, which quite frankly it’s really hard not to!
